Welcome!
- I’m Weixing, a fifth-year Ph.D. student at the University of Miami, specifically within the Department of Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering, College of Engineering, under the mentorship of Dr. Yang Wang, primarily working within the Particle Measurement & Technology Laboratory (PMTL). I am also an active member of the Center for Aerosol Science and Technology (CAST).
My work and research
My research interests cover diverse aspects of aerosol science and engineering: indoor bioaerosol control, occupational air filtration, health-related aerosol mitigation, aerosol instrumentation, aerosol characterization and measurements.
My research on the filtration performance of non-medical materials for facemasks and respirators during the COVID-19 pandemic gained media attention: New York Times, BBC News, NPR News, C&EN News, Daily Herald, Today, Newsy, and highlighted on Missouri S&T’s YouTube channel. The data was shared publicly on Google Sheets.
- I am dedicated to advancing public health and environmental well-being through scientific research that addresses real-world challenges.
My personal life
- Passionate about traveling, exploring maps, and road trips.
- Enjoy reading, swimming, and fitness activities.
